Important boys in my life

I cannot stress enough how much I love all my girlfriends. Those of you who have stuck with me through thick ad thin; through arguments and tears; through my darkest hours....

(OK, let's not make this a depression feast!)

My point being, as girls, we always have time for girlfriends and long chats and catch ups etc, but we never stop to think of the boys in our life that we have to thank. I got thinking and despite a very long list, I have narrowed it down to 3 very important boys in my life: (I shall go by the order of age =)

1. My Brother
I have many horrible stories I like to share with others whenever the subject of 'brothers' are brought up. Although 3 years younger than me, he'll always be 18 in my mind. I have made some pretty strong impressions on him since early childhood (mainly involving bullying..) and despite all of that non-sense, he still sees and respects me as a sister. The older sister- younger brother relationship has always been me taking care and looking after him (almost never the other way around- mainly because I put up a strong facade). However, staying together this year has made me realise that it has miraculously worked the other way around. I remember when I was most stressed out ... All the exams, assignments, the pressure finally broke out in the form of worst cold+fever+cough. I was bed-ridden and being a sweet brother, he brought home comfort food. Although not much to the common eye, I felt blessed and I don't think I cud've gone through that rough patch without him.

2. Kington
I receive a call from a classmate I never had much conversation with... It was a call out of the blue with a mission in mind... But that was how our friendship began. I am great at vanishing and disappearing on people once I move on. It's certainly not what I want, but it happened, it still happens... When I moved away from home to pursue my degree, I left my family, my past and all my friends back home. Before you know it, everyone's forgotten you... But not Kington. He'd call me out of the blue to go out for a meal and what I imagined to be an awkward meeting after such a long time turned out incredibly friendly and warm. It was catching up with old times and no matter what kind of person I was, Kington is always an email away.

3. Patrick
Some girls say that a boy and a girl can NEVER be just friends. Even if they were, they'd never be best of friends. Patrick and myself would be a total rebel against that concept. We have so many things in common and it was inevitable before we realised we spend A LOT of time together. It's so rare to find guys in which you're 100% comfortable when you're alone with them. Other than great companionship, Patrick has good ears and is always there to lend a helping hand- sensible advice always followed. Besides being a good friend, I'm constantly learning new things in life, learning new ways of dealing with things. To put it in simple words, he's opened a window into a new perspective of life in which I have been neglecting.

These 3 boys are now a million miles away from me and I miss them very very much. I just want to thank you and just tell you how much I love you =)
